17 paaralan sa Palawan, pinagkalooban ng computer packages mula sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)

Labing pitong paaralan sa lalawigan ng Palawan ang napiling maging benepisyaryo ng Tech4ED (Technology Empowerment for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development) Computer Packages sa ilalim ng programa ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Ang turn-over ng computer sets ay isinagawa nitong ika-4 ng Abril, taong kasalukuyan, sa mga kinatawan ng paaralan na kinabibilangan ng mga sumusunod: Abo-abo National High School, Sofronio Espaῆola, Inil U. Taha National High School sa Brookes Point, Aborlan National Highschool, Balabac National High School, Coron School of Fisheries, Jose P. Rizal National High School, Manamoc National High School sa bayan ng Cuyo, Narra National High School, Panacan Elementary School, Panacan National High School at Princess Urduja National High School sa bayan ng Narra, Pulot National High School sa Española at Quezon National High School. Mula naman sa Puerto Princesa ay nabigyan din ang Candes Elementary School, BGy. Bacungan, Matahimik-Bucana Elementary School, Bgy. Matahimik at Pilot Elementary School at Ubaldo Conde High School.

We gave 5 sets of computer per school, kasi dapat marami silang magagamit for them to be able to be knowledgeable enough in terms of technology, digital literacy and innovation,” Ayon kay Engr. Alan Silor, DICT Assistant Secretary.

Ang mga computer packages ay mayroong content at learning materials tulad ng (1) eEduSkills - Alternative Learning System, Rotary eLibrary, Skills Training, (2) eAssist -Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, Career Development, (3) Gender and Development - Training Modules, (4) eAgri – Rice Crop Manager, Rice Data and Information Portal, (5) Rural Impact Sourcing – Freelancer Boot Camp and Social Media Marketing Boot Camp at (6) eHealth – Health Care Organization and online resources.

Samantala ang Tech4Ed project ay nagsimula sa Philippine Community eCenter Program, isang national digital inclusion initiatives na kung saan ay nagbibigay ng e-government at ICT-enabled services sa komunidad na mayroong minimal access sa information at government services.

Dumalo sa nasabing turn-over ceremony ang ilang opisyales ng DICT sa pangunguna nina Asec. Alan Silor at DICT Cluster 3 Director Cheryl Ortega, piling kawani ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan, mga school principal, ilang guro at kawani ng Department of Education.
